A 30-minute, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) session can decrease the appetite of middle-aged men and increase their power output without negatively impacting their sleep. Also, middle-aged men tend to physically perform better in the afternoon and evening compared to the morning.
Working out at night tends to reduce levels of, ghrelin, the appetite-stimulating hormone. CSU School of Exercise Science, Health and Sport doctoral student, Penelope Larsen, foresees a similar study for women in the near future.
For more information about HIIT, consult a fitness specialist.
